What is the wine's story?

Founded in 1895, Cantine Francesco Montagna is one of Oltrepò Pavese most historical winery. In 1974, the Bertè-Cordini family bought over the winery but decided to keep the original name as a tribute to the founder. Today, second-generation family members Matteo Bertè and cousins Marzia & Luca Cordini represents a new generation of young people who are bringing new life and fresh knowledge to wines of their region. The winery produces some of the most impressive and under-rated Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grapes in Oltrepò Pavese, grown over marl and loam soil with a high percentage of limestone. The cool climate along with the soil contributes to the fragrance and good natural acidity in their grapes.
